World Mental Health Day - October 10

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Mental health, News on 3rd October, 2018

World Mental Health Day is on Wednesday 10 October and the theme set by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World.

We have partnered with Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust to feature in a livestream on the day, called 'Look out for your work colleagues'. The programme will be live from 9.30-11.30am and will feature speakers, including Neill Richardson, Clinical Team Leader, from the Depression and Anxiety Service (DAS) who will be talking about the 'The Power of Connection'. Neill will also be speaking about the event on BBC Radio Devon just after 5pm tomorrow.

Roughly one in four of the people you will see at work today will struggle with mental health this year. Despite this, many believe it doesn't affect anyone they know - but our colleagues and friends at work aren’t immune.

You can view the livestream from 9.30 on Wednesday 10 October.

We would also like to encourage staff to get involved with our Ready, Steady, Bake! event during October. A good chance to have a cuppa and chat to others as well as raising money for our charity.

For those who use social media we will be raising awareness of #WorldMentalHealthDay (#WMHD) on 10 October, so don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter or Instagram.
