Learning disability service

We support people with a learning disability when they see their GP, use primary care services, or when they go to the district general hospital.

We help those with mental health needs and challenging behaviour who are unable to benefit from the same adult mental health services as everyone else.

How we can help

We have a wide range of staff to provide help - these include nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, consultant psychiatry, and psychology.

Inpatient services

Our inpatient unit in Exeter provides care that includes short-term assessment and treatment, specialist provision for autism, and longer-term care. This is consultant led.

A service for people with learning disabilities over 18 who are either using the services of an Acute Hospital inpatient or outpatient service and those with epilepsy being treated by the Neurology Department.
