We support people with a learning disability when they see their GP, use primary care services, or when they go to the district general hospital.
We help those with mental health needs and challenging behaviour who are unable to benefit from the same adult mental health services as everyone else.
We have a wide range of staff to provide help - these include nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, consultant psychiatry, and psychology.
Our inpatient unit in Exeter provides care that includes short-term assessment and treatment, specialist provision for autism, and longer-term care. This is consultant led.
Our learning disability nurses work to support people with a learning disability to access mainstream health services, including supporting people who are inpatients or attending outpatient appointments. Specialist teams will also work with people who require more intense assessment and treatment.
