Challenge yourself for the DPT Charity and make a difference

Daniel Robson, Head of Charity Fundraising, abseilingThe DPT Charity works to improve the care and support available to our communities who rely on the mental health, learning disability, and neurodiversity services provided by our. We aim to support the wellbeing of both patients and colleagues, contributing to the delivery of quality care.

This has included:

  • Animal and music therapy at Franklyn Hospital in Exeter, where it is integrated into the Occupational Therapy (OT) program to cater to various patient interests and needs. These activities range from fostering a sense of accomplishment to reconnecting individuals with their hobbies or providing sensory stimulation.
  • Tree planting at New Leaf, dedicated to honouring a loved one and expanding the existing orchard by introducing a variety of fruit trees such as greengages, plums, crab apples, and pears.
  • The Dementia Wellbeing Service at Brookland Hall in Bristol sought funding to acquire equipment for launching a gardening club.
  • The variety of patients who were uplifted by Christmas celebrations, including those at Russell Clinic.

You can get in involved in a variety of way that could include:

Exeter Great West Run – Sunday 26 May: Embark on a 13.1-mile journey through Exeter, exploring cityscapes, picturesque country lanes and culminating in an exhilarating finish at the stadium. Limited complimentary entries are available for those supporting DPT Charity. Participants commit to raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.

DPT Charity Abseil – Saturday 6 July: Experience the thrill of abseiling down a 65ft tower at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre in Exeter. By securing a free place, participants commit to raising a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.

Skydive Challenge: Take on a 15,000ft tandem skydive at Dunkeswell Airfield.
