Our staff told us
Our staff have told us that they want to:
- Spend less time recording information and doing administrative tasks and more time
caring for people - Have fewer barriers to delivering good care
- Keep things simple and get the basics right
- Have the right tools to do the job
- Be able to quickly involve other services where necessary
- Deliver high quality care that makes a difference to people's lives.
We know that we have an experienced workforce but this creates challenges in that some teams will experience a high number of colleagues retiring in the next ten years. We also know that our younger staff are more likely to express dissatisfaction and are at a greater risk of leaving the NHS.
Safe, high quality care is dependent on making the best use of our experienced workforce and retaining the talents, energy and motivation of our younger clinical workforce and those we are supporting in learning and training roles.
We are working hard to ensure that all of our staff feel respected, valued and happy at work and our efforts to embed a restorative, just and learning culture are driving this forward.
