Are you worried about someone having suicidal thoughts?
Someone who's having suicidal thoughts may not ask for help, but that doesn't mean they don't want help and support. It can be difficult finding the words to express what or how they are feeling.
If you're worried about someone, try to get them to talk to you. Ask open-ended questions like: How do you feel about.. ?
Show you care by saying something like: 'I'm worried about you and I want to help' or 'Whatever is bothering you we will get through this together'.
Don't be afraid to discuss suicide. Evidence shows asking someone if they are suicidal can protect them. By asking someone directly about suicide, you give them permission to tell you how they feel.
