The Cavell Trust Star Awards provide a commendable platform for colleagues to acknowledge and nominate their peers for their remarkable achievements. The awards are given to nurses, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who show exceptional care to one of three groups of people: their colleagues, their patients, and patients' families.

Queen was presented with her medal and certificate by colleague Toyin Temitope at Wonford House in Exeter. Toyin nominated Queen for going above and beyond for her colleagues.

Queen said: "To be recognised by colleagues for supporting colleagues is deeply humbling. What brings me the greatest fulfilment isn’t the award itself but it’s seeing the people I have had the privilege to support grow in confidence, overcome challenges and thrive. I believe everyone has potential; sometimes all they need is someone who believes in them. Every act of encouragement, every opportunity we create for another person, and every investment we make in someone’s potential creates a ripple effect that strengthens our patients, our teams and our organisation.

"This recognition encourages me to continue serving with compassion, lifting others and creating opportunities for people to flourish. Because, in the end, the greatest legacy we leave is not what we achieve ourselves, but the lives we inspire, empower and help transform. Although one nomination was selected as part of the process, I am truly grateful to everyone who took the time to nominate me."
