Staff with lived experience
We are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all staff, particularly those with lived experience of mental health challenges, learning disabilities, or neurodiversity.
As a Mindful Employer, we promise to treat everyone fairly and to support staff with mental health experience in the workplace. This means we do not judge, we do not make unfair assumptions, and we aim to create a workplace where people feel safe to talk about their mental health if they want to.
We know that staff with lived experience bring valuable insight and ideas. Their experiences can help us improve our services and make them more helpful for others. Through the Together Programme, staff with lived experience can get involved in service improvement activities, just like people who use our services and carers.
We want all staff to feel confident, valued, and heard, not just in their jobs, but in how their personal experiences can help shape better, kinder services.
Being welcomed into the Together Expert by Experience Network, where my voice is not only heard but valued, has been profoundly healing. It's given me a renewed sense of purpose and hope. I have met so many extraordinary people through Together - each one deeply committed to improving services, driven by lived experience and united by a shared vision. Their passion is nothing short of inspiring.
Witnessing the organisation's willingness to listen, collaborate and co-produce with lived experience has been refreshing and restorative. I only wish I had known about the network sooner, not only for myself, but for the many individuals I supported over the years. How different their journeys might have been had they also found a space where their voices mattered. - Amy
