Priority 4
Support people to develop skills, knowledge and confidence to contribute effectively to decision-making.
To work together effectively, both staff and people who use our services need to be supported to participate in coproduction and other types of involvement work. We need to foster skills which enable everyone to collaborate, communicate and share decision-making.
Our staff and experts by experience need to feel confident that they can meet the challenges of working together and bring about positive change.
To support this, we will:
- Provide accessible information and training to people who use our services, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to take part meaningfully
- Offer tailored and meaningful support to experts by experience, ensuring their involvement is valued and impactful
- Develop and deliver co-production training and best practice guidance to staff to embed collaborative working across the organisation
- Raise awareness among all staff about involvement opportunities and how they, and the people they support, can contribute to service improvements
- Ensure senior leaders actively role model inclusive, collaborative approaches to foster a culture of genuine involvement at every level.
