    How we can help

We can help you if you have a moderate to severe eating disorder, regardless of BMI. This includes:

    • Anorexia nervosa
    • Bulimia
    • Eating disorder not otherwise specified (ENDOS)

As part of the first episode for rapid early intervention for eating disorders (FREED) we work closely with our NHS talking therapies service, TALKWORKS. If you are aged between 18 and 25 they can help you if you are experiencing symptoms of binge-eating disorder and bulimia nervosa. You can self-refer to them from their website.

We also provide advice, consultation and training for healthcare professionals.

You can access our service through a referral from your GP. You will be offered assessment and treatment once you have been assigned a care coordinator.

    Your assessment

You will be offered an appointment for an assessment. A final report and recommendations will be sent to your GP and those involved in your care.

If admission to The Haldon eating disorder unit is required, we will manage your referral and work with you, your family and carers and other professionals, to maintain your safety until admission is possible.
