How we can help
How we can help
We are here to support you if you're dealing with the psychological effects of a brain injury or neurological condition. This could be a brain injury or stroke, epilepsy or a neurodegenerative disease, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and motor neurone disease (MND).
We're professionally trained to assess what you're experiencing and help you manage the changes, whether they are cognitive, behavioural, or emotional. We also understand how these challenges can affect your family life, work and social situations.
You might be facing a confusing mix of changes that are hard to make sense of. These can range from subtle, temporary lapses in memory or behaviour to more significant and lasting difficulties with basic skills, emotional control, or how you relate to others. On top of that, coming to terms with a diagnosis and the changes to your sense of self can be incredibly tough.
We're here to help you and your loved ones find ways to reduce the impact of these challenges. Whether it's through advice, therapy, or emotional support, we will work with you to help you adjust and move forward with confidence and care.

If you are currently in hospital and receiving neurorehabilitation, you may be automatically referred to community rehabilitation services when you are ready to leave.
If you are being seen regularly by a clinical nurse specialist, attending outpatient hospital clinics, or receiving support from community services and you have a neurological condition or brain injury, any of the professionals involved in your care can refer you to our service. Your GP can also make a referral if needed.

Your assessment
If your referral is appropriate for our service we will contact you to discuss next steps. We will carry out a brief assessment on the phone and you may then be invited to attend an appointment.
Your appointment
Your appointment will likely last between 1-3 hours. You can bring someone with you. Our aim is to get a good understanding of your issues and decide the best way forward.
Next steps may include further neuropsychological assessment, which may take place over a number of appointments. We will share the outcome with you and your care team.
