Run for Open Up at the Exeter Great West Run

Runners at the Exeter Great West Run

Looking for a challenge that will motivate you, improve your wellbeing and make a real difference in your community? The Exeter Great West Run on Sunday 24 May is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Our charity Open Up is inviting supporters to lace up their running shoes and take part in this inspiring local event while raising funds to enhance mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity care across Devon.

Whether you are an experienced runner or simply looking for a new personal challenge, the Exeter Great West Run offers something for everyone.

Participants can take part in one of three exciting events:

  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
Take on the full Exeter Great West Run experience with a memorable route through the heart of Exeter. Runners will enjoy scenic country lanes, stunning views and the thrill of crossing the finish line with an exhilarating stadium finish.
  • 10k Run
Perfect for runners stepping up from a 5k, this closed-road route follows the opening and closing sections of the half marathon. It's an achievable but rewarding challenge for those building their distance.
  • Community Mile
A fun and inclusive event designed to encourage young people, families and the wider community to get active together. The Community Mile celebrates the benefits of movement and wellbeing while creating a welcoming atmosphere for participants of all ages and abilities.

Open Up is delighted to offer a limited number of complimentary race entries for people who would like to run in support of the charity. In return, they are asking participants to commit to raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. Every pound raised helps them enhance mental health and wellbeing services, support innovative projects and improve the everyday experiences of people receiving care.
