National Schizophrenia Awareness Day: Careloop CBTpARTY events

Today is National Schizophrenia Awareness Day.
Our Trust is one of the first in the country to pilot the use of CareLoop, a digital platform and patient app designed to detect early warning signs of relapse in psychosis and schizophrenia.
Two interactive CBT for psychosis (CBTpARTY) events have recently taken place across South and North Devon with the team from Careloop. The sessions brought together creativity, evidence-based practice, and community spirit to challenge misconceptions about schizophrenia.
Colleagues from different teams came together to discuss facts about schizophrenia and created a myth-busting art wall. Each poster contrasts harmful myths with accurate facts, creating a visual display that will keep conversations going.
Harry Chapman, Service Delivery and Engagement Manager at CareLoop Health, said: "We wanted to do something different. Schizophrenia remains one of the most stigmatised mental health conditions, and we knew that to really challenge misconceptions, we needed an approach that would stick with people long after the event ended."
The events contributed to a broader movement challenging stigma across the UK, aligning with Rethink Mental Illness's National Schizophrenia Awareness Day campaign.
