Langdon Hospital's successful summer patient and family event

Staff gather at Langdon summer event

Langdon's latest summer patient and family event was a resounding success thanks to the beautiful weather and the enthusiasm from patients, carers and staff.

Held in the Dewnans outdoor area on Wednesday, 11 June, there was food, games and a continuous relay walk to raise funds for our DPT charity Open Up.

Langdon, near Dawlish, is home to our secure services which provide support for men who have an experience with the legal system because of their mental health needs.

The day began with a welcome presentation for carers and family members before enjoying a barbecue with patients and staff. There was also a plant sale and musical performances in the Dewnans corridor and sports barn.

Those undertaking the relay walked a total of 50 miles between them and raised more than £500 for Open Up.

A huge thank you to all the members of the team who made this event possible. A significant amount of work went into the planning and preparation and was instrumental in the success of the day.
