101-mile South Hams Way challenge to support Little Something Fund
Selina Dare, Occupational Therapy Lead in our Perinatal Service, is preparing to take on an extraordinary personal challenge: walking 101 miles along the South Hams Way to raise funds and awareness for Open Up's Little Something Fund.
The Little Something Fund supports projects that strengthen the wellbeing of mothers and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties during the life-changing period of welcoming a new baby. For many women, this time can bring unexpected challenges, and the right support can make a lasting and meaningful difference.
Selina is hoping to raise £1,000, with all funds going directly towards enhancing support for mothers and families during the perinatal period. Donations will help provide essential resources, targeted projects and meaningful interventions that improve wellbeing at a critical stage of family life.
Speaking about the challenge, Selina said: This walk is deeply personal to me. Every mile is a reminder that no mother should feel alone when bringing a new baby into the world. If I can help raise awareness and funds to support even one family through a difficult time, every step will have been worth it.
With community backing, this 101-mile journey across coastline and countryside will not only test endurance but also help create brighter beginnings for families across Devon.
To support the challenge and help Selina reach her £1,000 target, please consider making a donation via JustGiving.
