Independent Mental Health Advocate, Independent Mental Capacity Advocate and Independent Care and Support Advocate Referrals
Managers have a duty to provide information to detained patients in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended 2007 to facilitate their right to consult an Independent Mental Health Advocate, an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate in accordance with Section 35 of the Mental Capacity Act and an Independent Care and Support Advocate in accordance with the Care Act 2014. This policy describes the information that must be given to patients and details the referral process.
