On Call Arrangement

This policy recognises the Trust’s responsibility of providing appropriate services to the population whilst maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff. It recognises that there is a requirement for certain groups of staff to provide either an on-call service or extended service cover. The policy covers situations in which staff are required to:

  • Be part of an on-call arrangement covering time outside normal rostered duties, or
  • Be part of an extended service cover arrangement, or
  • To attend work outside normal working hours to help cover an emergency

The policy reflects arrangements as set out in Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
