Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Service (FIND)

The FIND service delivers a post diagnostic care pathway service for both men and women with intellectual disorders and/or Autism, and/or acquired brain injury who find themselves within, or referred to, secure services on the basis of their perceived risk of future violent or aggressive behaviour.  The service is peninsula wide serving Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The service provides a gatekeeping function for people with learning disabilities, and or Autism, and acquired brain injuries referred to secure in-patient services.  Unnecessary admissions to secure services are prevented and appropriate care pathways are identified.

The service provides assessment, consultation and advice, training, indirect and direct work with service users to help them access effective and timely treatment.

The service is not designed to offer crisis or acute care, however we will endeavour to provide a timely response dependent on prioritization. The Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disorder Service actively collaborates with partner agencies.
