Rougemont Ward

Rougemont Ward is one of two wards located at Franklyn Hospital in Exeter. We provide assessment and treatment for older people with severe mental health needs, such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

Our multi-disciplinary team consists of a consultant psychiatrist, nurses, an occupational therapist, social service professionals and psychologists. They are available to give treatment, care and advice and encourage
carers and relatives to be involved in this process.

The team also has close links with older people’s mental health teams and other health and social care providers in communities across Devon.

What you can expect

• You will be called by your preferred name
• You will be addressed politely
• You will not share sleeping areas, bathrooms or toilets with members of the opposite sex
• Staff will uphold your dignity at all times
• Staff will actively listen to any concerns you may have and do their best to resolve them with you
• We will always request permission or knock to enter your room
• We will work with you to support you in achieving your own goals.

Medicines

You will be asked to bring in any current medication prescribed to you by your doctor.
