As well as the counselling that is regularly provided by our clinical team during your transition, we also provide vital peer support for those setting out to find answers to their gender concerns, as well as for those progressing through life, living in their preferred gender. Essential skilled advice is provided on a regular basis from professionals based outside the clinic.
Support group meetings are held and focus on issues associated with circumstances related to where a person is, not their gender reassignment journey.
After your journey of transition, social and physical, has been completed, most people do not request long-term support and counselling. If long-term support is needed, your GP may be request it and we will collaborate with them in applying for funding. Provision of long-term support can only be provided if commissioned by your local NHS.
