What happens after referral?

Once referred to the SWPC for a specialist eating disorder bed, we will consider the information in the referral and make a decision as to whether inpatient treatment would be the best option for you at this time.  Following this, you may be offered an appointment for an Access Assessment, which would be carried out by experienced members of the team. 

If you are accepted for inpatient treatment, you will be placed on the waiting list for admission to either Haldon or STEPS;  during this time your Community Eating Disorders Service Team will continue to oversee your care and treatment.

If admitted, we will work with you to design a care and treatment plan to meet your needs. This includes daily activities and treatments before moving back onto other support services to keep you on track.
