Referrals

Please note, unfortunately we are unable to take self-referrals

Wonford House signPlease be aware that to be referred to The Haldon you will first need to have been seen by your local Specialist Eating Disorders Community Team. They would then be responsible for referring you to the relevant Community Eating Disorder Service, who will undertake an assessment to see if you require an inpatient admission, or if you can be supported on your recovery journey in the community.

If they feel that an admission to a Specialist Eating Disorders Unit (SEDU) would be the best option for you, they will submit a referral via the Single Point of Access patient flow system for review by the South West Provider Collaborative (SWPC) Clinical Audit Panel (CAP)

The Haldon is one of two preferred providers within the SWPC commissioned by NHS England to deliver specialist inpatient treatment for people with severe eating disorders; the other is STEPS Bristol.

Most people with an eating disorder will be treated in the community by their community eating disorders team. In many cases and this is sufficient to begin to make changes in people's lives.
