Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we have temporarily suspended our non-residential day programme. This is to ensure the safety of our staff and everyone we support. We aim to resume this service as soon as it is safe to do so, however in the meantime we thank you for your understanding and support.
The Haldon is the home of our specialist eating disorder service that helps treat people with severe eating disorders. Most people with an eating disorder will be treated in the community by their GP and community mental health teams, which is often sufficient for them to begin to make positive changes to their lives.
However, some people may require admission to a specialist centre, like The Haldon, as part of their longer term care plan.
Opened in 2006, The Haldon provides support and care for up to 20 patients at any one time. The service is aimed at people with severe eating disorders, and provides care on a residential and non-residential basis.
We currently provide 10 bed spaces for people requiring intensive treatment.
The Haldon is located within Wonford House, Exeter, which is set in over fifty acres with a park-like setting.
The Haldon has Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED) accreditation from The Royal College of Psychiatrists.
At the start, everyday was a struggle, however I fought onwards and with guidance and care offered from The Haldon I learned to talk openly and honestly - I began to see a way through towards a life worth living.
