Sowing the seeds of recovery

Establishment in 1990, our plant nursery, previously known as Hillcrest Growers, is situated on a glorious 35-acre site. We operate as a commercial enterprise, specialising in producing plants for both the general public and private customers.

People are encouraged to become part of the experienced horticultural team where they will have the opportunity to learn and develop many transferable skills, including general nursery work, propagation, potting and planting, retail skills, and delivering plants to customers.

Nursery tasks vary with the changing seasons. In the spring, we grow plants such as primroses and bulbs, preparing for a busy summer season crafting hanging baskets, containers and bedding for a variety of customers. Our public retail plant sales area provides a great opportunity to develop plant knowledge and fine-tune your display and sales skills.

As autumn decends, we begin propagation for the fourthcoming year as well as grow a selection of autumn bedding, Cyclamen and Poinsettias ready for Christmas. With the festive season comes the opportunity for wreath and garland making before the cycle repeats.

New Leaf retail plant sales is open every Tuesday through Friday, with two time slots available: from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1pm to 3pm. We're delighted to welcome both retail and wholesale customers. Follow New Leaf on Facebook to keep up to date or contact 01392 823720.
