Sowing the seeds of recovery
Established in 1990, Hillcrest Growers is a commercial wholesale/retail plant nursery, producing a wide range of plants for the public and private sector. You will become part of the team within a comfortable, caring environment, and will be able to learn and develop horticultural skills including plant production and dispatch. We also offer opportunities to learn grounds maintenance skills using a wide variety of machinery in a positive nurturing nursery.
New Leaf Café
The café offers a varied, interesting and enjoyable environment not only to learn new culinary skills but to also gain many transferable trade and life skills. We use fresh food and cook all dishes with the view that everything should be as healthy and nutritious as possible. New Leaf has meeting rooms and a conference facility so there are ample opportunities to learn all aspects of catering and hospitality.
Bringing wood to life
Wood works offer opportunities to learn basic woodworking skills at entry and intermediate levels. This practically based training will include Health and Safety, instruction in the use of a wide range of hand tools, making various wood joints used in the woodwork trades and applying these skills to produce a finished item. Our workshop produces products for the commercial market, and bespoke commissions for sale to the public. People will be involved throughout the process, and be part of the team manufacturing, delivering and installing items.
New Leaf Print
New Leaf Print offers opportunities to learn type-setting/design, printing and print finishing. Our team produce a range of standard and wide format work using digital printers including, pull-up banners, posters, canvas prints, foamex boards and much more! All work undertaken is for the commercial and private sector. We also produce high quality photo ID badges and swipe cards.
Clothing Works specialise in bespoke and corporate design, embroidery, printing, marketing and distribution of professional medical and leisure wear products. Clothing Works is a supportive and realistic working environment and as such, clearly identifies pathways and goals towards recovery.

The opportunities offered at New Leaf are for people exploring vocational options – those who have the intention of finding paid work at some point in the future but who need time to explore their options and possibly try voluntary work and/or learning as part of their route to finding paid work.
