We are delighted to announce during Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Week, that we have been chosen to be an NHS Employers Diversity and Inclusion Partner for 2019/20.

As a Diversity and Inclusion Partner, over the course of the next year, we will be working with NHS Employers and the other successful partners to support system wide efforts to improve the robust measurement of diversity, inclusion and equality across the health and social care system.

Improvement work is varied but will include a specific focus on the new Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES), the Learning Disability Employment Programme (LDEP) and gender pay gap reporting. This partnership will also enable us to develop more effective local and regional networks and explore how we can further improve the overall staff experience for under-represented, marginalised and disadvantaged groups and communities.

This is also a great opportunity for us to demonstrate and share best practice and the fantastic work we have undertaken, and continue to undertake within the areas of equality, diversity and inclusion.

The work of the Trust’s Equality Champions, the EDI Steering Group and individuals who have taken steps locally to enhance equality and diversity within their services has been pivotal to the success of our Trust to be a part of this amazing opportunity.

We are very proud to have been chosen and are looking forward to the improvement and partnership opportunities ahead.
