Posted on 26th November, 2014

“One year ago I could hardly leave my home…the support I have received from New Leaf has been life-changing.” Kelly People with mental health needs, healthcare professionals and employers are invited to attend an Open Morning at New Leaf in Exminster on Friday 12 December between 9.30am and 12.30pm. New Leaf is part of Devon Partnership NHS Trust and provides a wide range of vocational rehabilitation services for people with mental health needs.  A modern and progressive service, New Leaf supports good mental health through training and skills development. People with depression, anxiety and a wide range of other mental health challenges can now choose to refer themselves or speak with their care coordinator, GP or other healthcare professional to find out more. People can boost their mental health recovery through meaningful activity, working as part of Hillcrest Growers (a horticultural nursery), Wood Works, New Leaf Print, New Leaf Café or Clothing Works departments. Qualified, experienced staff are on-hand to support people, help rebuild their confidence and self-esteem and move them towards recovery and a fulfilling working life. Don Crispin, who leads the New Leaf service, says: “We are dedicated to offering a supportive environment in which people can lay the foundations of their mental health recovery. Attending the service reduces isolation, encourages a positive mind set and helps people to develop strategies and solutions for managing their mental health.” The Open Morning offers a tour of the site and each department. Book your place to meet the staff, see the departments in operation and gain a real understanding of this life-changing mental health service.
