Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s annual staff and patient Langdon Santa Run can’t take place in the usual way, but we’d still love for you all to get involved and help get into the spirit of Christmas.
Raise £5 for 5k to help support a staff wellbeing garden at Langdon Hospital. Take on your own socially distance Santa Run anytime throughout December. Pick your day, set the time and donate £5 (or as much as you’re able to).
The money raised would be put towards creating a staff garden area which would also support supervisions, physical activity and wellbeing clinics. Andrea Langley, Staff Wellbeing Lead said: "Charitable funds helped the Wellbeing and Chaplaincy Teams this year to run wellbeing café drop-ins for staff. These were really valued, particularly with all of the restrictions this year impacting on social interactions. Staff told us that they would like more of these opportunities. This garden would help provide opportunity to take breaks away from clinical areas and a chance to connect with their colleagues."
Last year the Santa Run raised £1,000. The money was used to create an exercise studio in Stour to offer a range of different sessions for patients and staff including indoor cycling, Yoga, Pilates and pump classes.
Jack Phillips, Lead Physical Health Practitioner said: "Charitable Funds enable us to exceed expectation every day, and with this additional support it enables us to provide the very best care for our patients. With your support we are able to offer a wider range of activities that can support a variety of needs and abilities. There is a clear link between physical health and mental health and we see first-hand the benefits to our patients."
