Devon Partnership NHS Trust has announced that the Appointments Commission has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Judith Davey as a Non-executive director of the Board. The appointment is for a period of four years from 1 December 2010 until 30 November 2014. Judith has a proven track record in senior leadership roles and her expertise in making organisations more customer-focused is acknowledged nationally. Her previous positions include Vice President Customer Services at Nortel Networks, European Director at Deloitte and Head of Organisational Development at Devon County Council. Judith is currently Director of Performance & Accountability at ActionAid, a leading international aid and development agency, and is a member of the Board of the Society of Consumer Affairs in Europe. Commenting on the appointment, Mark Taylor, Chairman of Devon Partnership NHS Trust said: “Judith has joined us at a time of unprecedented change within the NHS. She brings with her a wealth of experience from the public, not-for-profit and private sectors and I am confident that she will be a valuable asset as we strive to improve the experience of people using our services and increase our efficiency.” As a Non-executive director, Mrs Davey’s remuneration will be £6,096 per annum. The appointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ Code of Practice. All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity to be made public. Mrs Davey has no declared political activity and does not hold any ministerial appointments.
