The team at Moorland View in North Devon recently hosted a wonderful Alice in Wonderland themed tea party for patients.
Anne Keatley, Occupational Therapy Manager, said: "As a ward we are aiming to celebrate an event every month in order to enhance the patient’s stay in hospital and bring everyone together. We looked for fun/silly national event days that we could get all the patients, staff and community involved in and Mad Hatter’s Day was in October, so we thought it would be great to put on an Alice in Wonderland Themed tea party for the ward to mark the day.
"Daisy Greaves, Activities Coordinator, did an amazing job organising it, getting the patients baking and making crafts and drumming up lots of support from the local community. We had so many generous donations of homemade cakes and treats from local people who wanted to help.
"Thanks to Daisy for all the hard work that was put into the tea party. It was a huge success. All the patients and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was lovely to see everyone smiling and enjoying themselves. You can’t beat a bit of tea and cake to bring everyone together!"
