Skydivers have raised over £5,000

This year we had our first ever scheduled skydive to support Our Charity, which invests in environment, equipment and services to aid in the wellbeing and recovery of people who use our services. This awesome 15,000ft challenge has so far been completed by six incredible staff from the Trust, which includes Renee McHugh, Lynn Pill, Katie Lenton, Paige Baron-Smith, Dell Miles and Charlotte Porter.

Charlotte Porter, Community Mental Health Support Worker at North and Mid Devon Specialist Team said, “The Trust helped me in my recovery and I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for the support I received. So it made sense to face my fears and raise money for charity."

Chloe and Courtney who benefited from the service at the Haldon Eating Disorder Unit also took part. Courtney said: “I chose to take on the challenge as I received treatment from the service on two occasions and really couldn’t thank the amazing staff enough for everything they done. This service is close to my heart and I wanted to give something back. This was a breath taking experience, and hard to explain! When I was free falling I felt like I was on top of the world."

These people who pushed themselves to do something out of the ordinary have fundraised over £5,000 this year for Our Charity, which is incredible and we can’t thank them and there donors  enough for their generous support.

If you’d like to join the eight people already signed up to take part in 2019, our next scheduled skydive is Saturday 6 April. Or alternatively if this date doesn’t suit, you can pick a time that works for you.
