Congratulations to the South West Secure Services New Care Model team who have been awarded the HSJ Value Award in the category of Mental Health.

This year saw fierce competition for the coveted awards with almost 600 entries, of which only 190 made the shortlist. From those, 20 deserving winners were decided by an expert panel of judges (with an additional 15 projects also receiving high commendation in their category) demonstrating the clear achievement Devon Partnership Trust on behalf of South West Regional Secure Services has made in being declared a winner.

What the judges said about the entry: “Our winners tonight present a project with a hugely impressive feat of leadership and transforming of productivity, patient and family experience across a large geography in a very complex area of care.”

Commenting on the award Dr Jason Fee (Interim Clinical Director, New Care Models) and Anne Forbes (Programme Director, New Care Models): “We are absolutely delighted to receive national recognition on behalf of all our partners. This celebrates the hard work and dedication of the team which has led to transforming the lives of people within this marginalised area of mental health.”

Also at the awards, which took place in Manchester, were our Communications Team, who were finalists in the Communications category, with the winners on the night being Mersey Care Foundation Trust. The team was shortlisted for patient involvement in developing our new website.  Congratulations in particular to Communications Manager Sharon Berkhout and Digital Communications Lead Sarah Williams for their hard work on the project.
