Patient and Public Voice representative needed for NHS England Gender Identity Services Programme Board

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in News on 23rd January, 2019

NHS England’s Programme Board for Gender Identity Services provides leadership and direction to NHS England’s ongoing process of service transformation and improvement.

Membership of the Board includes five individuals who represent the diversity of experience. Due to a temporary absence of one the members, they are seeking an individual who can represent the trans masculine voice for a fixed term of 9 months.

Applicants must have a commitment to helping NHS England improve the patient experience for trans and non-binary people; and to bring that focus into the work of the Programme Board. Applicants will bring a good understanding of the background to the work of the Programme Board, and the complex wider landscape (social; political; economic) in which the work takes place.

The Programme Board will provide leadership and direction to NHS England’s ongoing review of specialised gender identity services, ensuring that the approach follows best practice and is compliant with legal requirements.

Patient and Public Voice members of the Programme Board can receive an involvement payment of £150 per day (for those people not representing or supported by an organisation) for an estimated time commitment of 12 days per year. This is in line with the NHS England Patient and Public Voice Expenses policy.

For an information pack and details of how to apply please email england.voice-crg@nhs.net or call 0113 8248986.

The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday 27th January 2019.
