A new chapter with Open Up

As part of our commitment to transforming lives through enhanced mental health, learning disability, and neurodiversity support, we are thrilled to introduce our charity’s new identity and strategy. Formerly known as the DPT Charity, Open Up reflects a renewed vision to connect more meaningfully with individuals and communities, raising both awareness and support for mental wellbeing in Devon and beyond.

Our priorities for a brighter future

Guided by our strategy to build healthier, more inclusive communities, Open Up has identified three priority areas that will direct our efforts:

1. Physical health – We believe physical and mental health are linked. An example is our support for transforming the gym at Coombehaven Ward in Exeter, ensuring patients have access to physical wellbeing resources.

2. Health inequality – Not everyone has the same access to healthcare. Open Up is working to reach underserved communities, providing quality mental health services where they are most needed through Devon Partnership NHS Trust and community programmes.

3. Staff wellbeing – Supporting NHS staff is a priority. Through initiatives that promote their mental and physical health, we aim to ensure they have the resilience to deliver exceptional care, strengthening our healthcare community.
