Stoptober runs every October and is a great way for people to challenge themselves to quit smoking for good. Research suggests that if you quit for 28 days, you are five times more likely to quit for good!
There are now multiple ways to get support for quitting smoking that can be found on the NHS One You website including using the Stoptober app, daily advice and motivational emails, completing a personal quit plan and talking with other people who are quitting (or who want to quit) and supporting each other.
Giving up smoking can feel like a huge challenge. Listening to stories of people who have successfully managed to quit smoking can be really helpful. Six stories from people who successfully quit smoking can be found here.
