October is Black History Month

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in News on 1st October, 2019

Black History Month (BHM) is held in October every year and provides the opportunity to support the national celebrations and events taking place to honour the accomplishments of Black Britons in every area of endeavour throughout our history, helping to understand the present through our past.

Our culture has been enriched and our diverse society has been made stronger because of the people who travelled here to build new lives in the UK, as well as the achievements and contributions of their descendants.

The Black History Month website offers a range of information from latest news and view, event listings and information about Black History Month Heroes, such as Mary Seacole.

The Black History Walks website also offers links to informative websites, books and DVDs and can be found here.
