Mother and Baby Unit – what should we call it?

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Mental health, News on 3rd November, 2017

Plans have recently been submitted for the new Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in Exeter. Now we need to choose a name.

The new unit will open in 2019 and we would welcome your help in finding the perfect name for it. So we’re asking people with lived experience, stakeholders and staff for ideas. All ideas will be considered and the final name will be chosen by a judging panel, which will include people with lived experience. Although Devon Partnership Trust has no formal naming conventions, it is suggested that names should not relate to individual people and should avoid being too clinical in nature, avoiding words such as ‘clinic’, ‘ward’ or ‘unit’.

The person or group that suggests the winning name will receive a prize! The panel’s decision will be final. Please send your suggestions by Friday 10 November 2017 to dpt.pmo@nhs.net. Alternatively, ideas can be posted on the DPT Perinatal Twitter feed, @DPT_Perinatal. Entries will also be received via a closed Parent Stakeholder Facebook account.

The winning name will be announced at the end of November. Good luck!
