Peak Hill Llamas visited the Dewnans Centre on Saturday 3 August. This was an exciting and therapeutic opportunity for both patients and staff from across the Langdon site to interact with a couple of friendly llamas.
The llamas were more than happy to be walked around the outdoor area, be made a fuss of and for people to take the odd ‘selfie’. The llamas accessed the Dewnans by walking through the therapies corridor and out into the communal garden area. This turned a few heads and put a smile on many faces!
The visit was a huge success, with 38 individuals participating on the day. The Engagement & Involvement team are keen to further explore animal engagement opportunities both at the hospital and in the community for therapeutic benefit.
