Langdon's new Reflection Room

The Dewnans Centre at Langdon has recently opened its new Reflection Room in the Therapies corridor.

John Enever, one of the chaplains at Langdon, said: "We felt it was important for patients to have a place to just sit and reflect, away from the normal activities of the hospital; a place that is private but not exclusive.

"Patients discussed ideas for the décor and ambience of the room at the Patient Council and we put all the ideas together. People wanted gentle light, comfortable seating and useful resources. One of our patients designed the beautiful window shown in the photo, while others put up the wall transfer.

"We hope the room will provide a peaceful place of spiritual renewal, through simple reflection, prayer or whatever seems appropriate to the individual’s belief."
