Langdon Clinical Education Team - Finalists for Student Nursing Times Award 2023

The Clinical Education Team at Langdon Hospital have been successfully shortlisted in the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards 2023, in the category of Student Placement of the Year.

The Student Nursing Times Awards bring together the nursing community to shine a light on the brightest talent making their way into the profession, highlighting excellence in all specialties of student nursing. The awards also provide the opportunity to congratulate the lecturers, practice supervisors, universities, Trusts and private organisations providing the best support for student nurses during their studies.

Sammi Murphy, Clinical Education Team Manager, commented: “Our team at Langdon have been working hard to make sure that students doing their placement at the hospital get the most out it.

"The Clinical Education Team help to facilitate weekly training sessions for them utilising our own staff and subject experts. Collaborative Learning in Placement Practice (CLiPP) is a model we support where the students coach each other and gain valuable insight into their own practice and that of others.

"We are delighted that these efforts are paying off and this was shown in the Clinical Education Team’s successful nomination. I am incredibly proud of them, what an amazing achievement for Langdon and all of those who warmly welcome and support the learning of students.”

Directorate Manager, Jacky Francis, said: “It is great to see the inspiring work of our Clinical Education Team recognised and that this nomination came from the students themselves. Sammi and the team work incredibly hard to give the students a positive learning experience.”

The winner will be announced on Friday 28 April 2023 and colleagues at Langdon Hospital wish the team the best of luck.
