Join the HYROX challenge at Pulse Gym in Wellington on Saturday 10 May. Help us raise funds £1,400 to purchase a Concept2 bike for a new fitness space for Coombehaven Ward at The Cedars in Exeter. Your support will help our charity, Open Up, create a dedicated gym for patients on their recovery journey, providing vital opportunities to improve both mental and physical wellbeing.

What is the HYROX challenge?

This exhilarating fitness event is designed for all abilities. Whether you compete in pairs or take on the challenge solo, you’ll complete eight functional fitness stations, each followed by a 400m run (which can be walked if preferred). The stations include a SkiErg, sled push and pull, burpee broad jumps, row, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

HYROX has set weight categories, but as this is a fun and non-competitive event, weights can be adjusted to suit your preference. There’s no time limit. The goal is simply to challenge yourself and reach the finish line.

A challenge for all levels

The day will be split into beginner and experienced groups. When registering, please indicate your fitness level so we can ensure you’re placed in the right group.

How to register

To register and for more information please contact Laura Udall, Registered Nursing Associate, Coombehaven Ward, at laura.udall@nhs.net.

The suggested donation is £10 per person to participate in the event. Donations can be made directly through our JustGiving page.

We also encourage participants to seek sponsorships from friends and family, which can be donated via the same JustGiving link.

A fun and supportive event

We’re hoping to have a catering van and a photographer on the day to capture all the action and fun moments. This event is open to everyone, so spread the word and encourage others to join.

We can’t wait to see you on Saturday 10 May - let’s challenge ourselves and make a difference together.
