We are pleased to be beginning our recruitment process for the next group of Trainee Nursing Associates Apprentices with Plymouth University to undertake this programme leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
This opportunity is offered through an apprenticeship to staff who are interested in progression to this Band 4 role. The Programme takes two years and you remain a paid employee of our organisation. For internal staff in a Band 3 role you will remain on your current salary, employees new to the organisation will commence on the Band 3 starting pay.
The entry criteria for this Foundation Degree Programme is a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, and Maths and English at GCSE C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2
To undertake this challenging programme you need to be working a minimum of 30hrs a week, ideally 37.5hrs. Whilst undertaking the Programme you will receive 20% of your rota hours to undertake learning - during term time you will need to attend taught lectures by Plymouth University at their base in Exeter, during the academic holidays you will be expected to undertake self-directed learning during that day.
In order to meet the requirements of registration with the NMC you will also need to have dedicated practice hours within your workplace and undertake placements in different services to gain a broad experience of all aspects of nursing.
