Huge donation of gaming craft goods to ward at Langdon

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in News, Recovery and wellbeing on 18th February, 2020

Staff at Avon Ward, Langdon would like to thank a local business for the donation of hobby goods. Staff recently started subscribing to the Mortal Realms magazine through a local newsagent and patients really enjoying building, painting and playing with the miniatures.

It was so popular the team incorporated a 'Warhammer Club' into the activities timetable which has been very well received. Warhammer is a tabletop miniature wargame with a medieval fantasy theme that simulates battles between terrestrial armies from different factions.

Karl, Staff Nurse at Avon Ward at Langdon, and keen Warhammer hobbyist, contacted Games Workshop in Exeter to see if they could donate any items to help grow the budding hobby club. He was thrilled when they responded and sent paints, brushes, paint pots, palette pad and painting handles to help patients with physical disabilities.

Neil Dennett, Store Manager at Warhammer in Exeter was pleased to help and let the team know there may be more things available in the future.
