HMP Channings Wood are thrilled to share the news that a patient has won this year’s Quality Network Prison Mental Health Service (QNPMHS) festive card competition. This new competition was open to all patients engaging in prison mental health services across the country and a patient from our prison cluster has been titled the winner.

QNPMHS will be using the artwork on the front of their annual Christmas card and will be showcasing the piece in their newsletter. Other patients from both HMP Dartmoor and HMP Channings Wood also enthusiastically entered the competition and their drawings are also displayed in the newsletter.

RMN Teresa Manzi presented the patient who submitted his artwork with his QNPMHS winner’s certificate and the prison service are planning on recognising his efforts with a presentation. The Prison Mental Health Team are really pleased be able to share with you the outcome of this festive patient engagement opportunity. If you would like to find out more about the Prison Mental Health Team, you can email the service manager Sarah Krys on sarah.krys@nhs.net

The winning piece is titled 'Harey Christmas'.
