The Devon Partnership NHS Trust Community Mental Health team based at the Laurels in Newton Abbot is holding a conference on the diagnosis & treatment of Gender Dysphoria in the TREC Centre at Torbay Hospital on Friday 23 September 2005.
The purpose of the conference is to provide expert information on Gender Identity Disorder and is aimed at Primary Care Trust representatives, General Practitioners and health care professionals.
At present the Laurels team serves four areas covered by local Primary Care Trusts and is only one of three clinics in the country dealing specifically with Gender Identity Disorder. Due to an increase in enquiries from other areas, the team felt it is important to increase awareness of this subject and the processes that are needed to enable a smooth journey and a successful outcome.
The conference will cost £25.00 and includes lunch and refreshments. For full details of the programme and to book click the relevant links below. Completed booking forms should be sent to Sue Beasley, The Laurels Community Mental Health Team c/o Newton Abbot Hospital, 64 East Street, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4PT or Sue.Beasley@nhs.net.
