Dr Caroline Logan to delivery personality disorder training at Langdon Hospital

Dr Caroline Logan, Lead Consultant Forensic Clinical Psychologist in Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Manchester will be delivering the following training to clinicians at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.

Independent Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE)

Date: 8 – 9 May 2017 (two day training workshop)

Venue: Langdon Hospital, Dawlish EX7 0NR

Who should attend:

This course is suitable for clinicians who are experienced in making psychiatric diagnoses who have a good understanding and working knowledge of personality disorder and the DSM-IV and DSM-5 or ICD-10 classification systems.

Outcomes:

Following the training, participants will be able to:

  • understand links between personality and personality disorder;
  • understand personality disorder and its link with risk;
  • assess personality disorder with confidence using the IPDE.

Psychopathy Checklist Revised (PCL-R) with reference to the Comprehensive Assessment of Psychopathic Personality (CAPP)

Date: 10 – 11 May 2017 (two day training)

  • understand the concept of psychopathy
  • highlight the main methods for assessing and formulating psychopathy
  • make the link between psychopathy and risk assessment
  • identify the strengths and weaknesses of the PCL-R
  • consider new developments in the assessment, formulation and management of psychopathic personality disorder, including the Comprehensive Assessment of Psychopathic Personality disorder.
