DPT Charity Lottery launches
Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Charity, Recovery and wellbeing on 2nd November, 2020
Our Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) Charity
raises funds to make a difference to the lives of people who use our mental health and learning disability services. DPT Charity provides a platform for donations and fundraising events which encourages recovery, hope and wellbeing, as well as the opportunity to create closer links with our communities.
From 2 November, there will be a new way to support our DPT Charity to help boost the funds, so we are able to provide more to support the people that need it the most.
We have teamed up with Your Charity Lottery
to give people the chance of winning 82 cash prizes every week, with a jackpot prize of £1,000 and rollover prize of up to £10,000.
From just £1 per week this is an exciting way for you to get involved and enable our charity to provide above and beyond what the NHS is able to fund.
A previous enhancement that has been funded though charitable funds includes a sensory garden at Beech Unit in which provides assessment and treatment for older people with mental health needs. One patient said, “I love the new garden, it smells amazing and brings me closer to nature. I particularly enjoy watering the plants and seeing the flowers grow.” Lewis Powell, Ward Manager at Beech Unit, said, “The charity enabled us to transform an area normally unused in to a sensory environment that provides a welcome release to staff and patients. The recreational space is a beautiful place to engage with one another, catch the sun and take a break from the hospital setting.”
Richard Wellington, Technical Instructor at New Leaf said: “Charitable funds have had a positive impact on the vocational services we provide to help people to get back into the work place. Having access to these funds means that we are able go that extra mile and provide facilities otherwise unavailable to our service.”
