DPT Charity festive physical activity challenge

Posted by Devon Partnership Trust in Charity, News on 15th November, 2021

Could you get involved with this activity challenge for our DPT Charity and help raise money to help support physical activity across our organisation to enhance our support patient and staff wellbeing?

Take on your own socially distanced festive activity anytime throughout December. Pick your, activity, set the day, set the time and donate/raise £5, or as much as you’re able to. You could do five things and donate a pound each time.

Jack Phillips, Lead Physical Health Practitioner explains: “Charitable Funds enable us to exceed expectation. With your support we are able to offer a wider range of activities that can help a variety of needs and abilities. There is a clear link between physical health and mental health and we see first-hand the benefits to our patients.

"Over the last two years alongside fundraising via Tesco's token scheme, the DPT Charity has enabled us to plan and start working on a joint patient and staff collaboration to bring Mini Golf to Langdon Hospital. Through hard work and dedication of staff and patients involvement, and despite the COVID hold ups we have finished two holes. With the next three designed and in the making.

"Through co-production the course is really starting to take shape with patients responsible for the design, build and management of the project. It is really exciting and well on its way to provide an opportunity for patients and staff to engage in physical activity that will ultimately improve our physical and mental wellbeing. Without the kindness and support of our community raising money for the DPT Charity would not be possible and I would like to thank you all and encourage you to take part in our next event."
