Last month, the Devon Wellbeing Hub hosted its first ‘Reset and Restore’ mini retreat at Dartmoor Reach Alpaca and Glamping Farm.
The day was for colleagues working in healthcare, social care and the police across Devon who have been on a prolonged period of absence or who have recently returned to work following extended time off.
Led by Anna Croucher, Senior Colleague Wellbeing Practitioner, and Lau Harp, Psychotherapist, the aim was to give people the space, time and permission, to pause, relax and restore.
Colleagues were encouraged to put away any distractions for the day and focus on slowing down by engaging in mindfulness practice, a short wellbeing walk and a restorative gong bath – all whilst surrounded by the beautiful Devon countryside and resident alpacas!
Commenting on the day, colleagues said:
Lau said: "We know how difficult it can be to make sustainable and lasting changes from a place of business, routine and habit. Taking some time out in a nourishing environment that encourages us to slow down allows us the space required to physically and mentally reset, rejuvenate and reorganise what feels important. This sense of spaciousness is integral to us being able to tend to our overall wellbeing.
“The day was a pleasure to lead. It was so wonderful to see people bring their whole selves and experience the immediate impacts of settling the nervous system. We are so grateful to everyone that carved out the time to attend."
The Hub is hoping to run another retreat in the future. For updates, please follow the Devon Wellbeing Hub on Eventbrite, where you’ll also find a list of upcoming virtual workshops on topics such as Managing Imposter Syndrome and Keeping Well at Work.
