The Devon Recovery Learning Community is partnering with Sharpham Trust in Totnes as part of a new Lottery funded project.
The project called Mindful-in-Nature combines mindfulness and nature connection to support mental health recovery, resilience and wellbeing for people aged 18 and over living locally. It is co-designed with Devon Recovery Learning Community and supported by the Big Lottery Fund.
Mindful-in-Nature will run over the next four years and the first 1-day and 9-week course in Sharpham Woodland begins this Autumn. It will be co-tutored by Glenn Roberts, who will bring his own lived experience of recovery to the programme.
He said: "I'm really pleased to have this opportunity. It brings together my love of the natural world with my own ongoing learning of mindfulness meditation practice as a valued pathway to healing in the context of a lifelong vulnerability to depression and the opportunity to grow forwards from my medical work towards offering support to fellow students as we learn together."
