On the 10 September we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) as a virtual live event.
All NHS organisations have a statutory duty to convene an AGM, where they share a review of performance from the previous year and make their financial accounts available. View a copy of the Annual Review 2019/20
The event was kicked off by Andy Willis, Chair, who welcomed everyone and introduced himself as the new Chair of our organisation. Melanie Walker, Chief Executive, gave a review of the highlights of 2019/20 and Dr David Somerfield, our Medical Director, spoke about how we have been working during the COVID-19 pandemic - championing the excellent work of our staff and the creative use of remote technologies to stay connected with people using our services. Melanie then wrapped-up the presentation with a section on ‘Looking Forward’, talking through our priorities for the year ahead including recruitment, reducing out of area care, reducing waiting times and increasing bed capacity.
The event concluded with a Q&A session with David and Melanie answering questions from the public across a range of subjects including the cost of out of area care, recruitment and retention, learning disability inpatient services and the importance of physical health.
